Yesterday I attended a SCORM webinar provided by Advance Distributed Learning (ADL). Department of Defense and are the producers of SCORM. These include SCORM documentation , past webinar slides , and content examples , including the files from a Flash example. If you do not know the ADL, they are a part of the U.S.

It has gotten to a point where some of my courses are all developed in Flash and the e-learning authoring tools (DHTML) have been used more as a "shell" that decompiles it as a SCORM package. These courses can be published as SCORM or AICC compliant courses. So, do I really need to continue using these authoring tools?

Of course it will, it's SCORM compliant!" SCORM or not, there is no guarantee it will work on every LMS. Wish I had a dollar for every time I had to tweak a SCORM manifest from a vendor's course. Will the course work on our LMS? "Of Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.

SCORM : Learn at least the basics of SCORM including how to make basic edits to a SCORM manifest. Because the LMS will still be present in corporate training, like it or not, SCORM will still be very needed in 2015. Social bookmarks is always a great way to find useful resources.

This is great because I often share these tags on my blog, Twitter, e-mail and even in the classroom, so seeing them preserved was very important to me.

Being able to add quizzes and publish SCORM/AICC compliant courses is a big plus too. Being able to create SCORM/AICC compliant courses that imports Flash SWF files and plays well with the LMS makes my ability to implement e-learning much easier. DHTML authoring tool - My preference is OutStart Trainer (TrainerSoft).

Just because your course is "SCORM compliant" does not mean it will run on all SCORM compliant LMS's. FYI: Each time you work with a particular SME your ability to effectively and efficiently collaborate increases. LMS - Have you created a course that ran successfully on the LMS before? Some tweaking may be required.
