Origin Learning Gets Shortlisted at the 2014 Learning In Practice Awards

There’s no greater pleasure than to reap the fruits of your hard work. And it gives us immense happiness to share with you all that we have been announced as one of the finalists for the “Providers” category at the 2014 Learning In Practice Awards by the CLO Magazine in Chicago. There are two major categories:Practitioners and Providers.

Origin Learning Gets Shortlisted at the 2014 Learning In Practice Awards

Considered one of the highest honors in the workforce development field, the Learning In Practice Awards recognize industry leaders who have demonstrated excellence in the design and delivery of employee education programs. The finalists named to the short list will receive either the gold, silver or bronze award in their respective categories at a special awards dinner at the Fall Chief Learning OfficerSymposium. Practitioner awards recognize chief learning officers and qualified senior learning executives for their leadership in developing and executing enterprise education initiatives. Provider awards recognize qualified service providers, vendors and consultants for their work on behalf of a client organization. In addition, each year one outstanding learning executive is singled out to receive the prestigious CLO of the Year honour — the industry equivalent of a lifetime achievement award.

The sub-categories under the Practitioner Awards include Business Impact, Collaboration, Global Learning, Innovation, Strategy, Technology and Trailblazer wherein executives from globally renowned organizations like Hewlett Packard, The Boeing Co., IBM, Ford Motor Co., Southwest Airlines and Qualcomm have been shortlisted apart from many others.

Learning in Practice Awards Finalist CLO MagazineThe sub-categories under the Providers Awards include Academic Partnerships, Blended Technology, Community Service, Content, E-Learning, Gaming and Simulations, Social Learning and Vendor Partnership. While Apollo Education group is the sole contender for the Community Service award, all other sub-categories have 3 or more finalists. Some of the well known names include Pricewaterhousecoopers LLC, Skillsoft, Intrepid Learning, Saba and Mind Gym among many others. Origin Learning is a finalist to the Social Learning category, where it is competing with Saba and Interactyx for the gold, silver or bronze award.

“The Learning In Practice awards were launched 11 years ago to call attention to the individuals and organizations that not only raise the bar for workforce development but also raise awareness of its power as a business driver and competitive advantage,” said Mike Prokopeak, editor-in-chief of Human Capital Media, which publishes Chief Learning Officer magazine. “This year’s finalists — selected from a field of more than 200 worthy applicants nominated by their peers — represent truly transformational corporate education.”

Final gold, silver and bronze rankings and the winner of the prestigious CLO of the Year award will be announced at the Fall 2014 Chief Learning Officer Symposium during a special awards dinner. The celebration will feature a keynote address from 2013 CLO of the Year Rob Lauber, former vice president of Yum! University at Yum! Brands Inc., and a festive after-party with live entertainment.
