Skype and Hangout are second best. Bonds don’t form over a Skype call but over coffee and lunch when conversations veer to the personal and discussions revolve around interests. To be connected to colleagues and co-workers, be in office as much as possible.

Can better use be made of tools and applications like Skype, AOL, Webinars, conference calls, video conferencing, Google docs, etc.? Some important questions that remain unasked Are all communication channels being effectively used (especially important if communicating via Web and across different time-zones)?

I put this up on my Skype handle to drive home to myself the lesson I have learnt. Everyone on the mail trail must have forgotten the whole incident by now but I like to arrive at the root of my emotions and reactions. My Key Learning: Address the How and Why and make sure the context is clear. Never assume! Look for insights.
