It's an employee orientation that consists of many (500) slides of text and graphics. We'll make the slides fun with graphic effects and movies, but that doesn't change the slide model. For the task described, where the source is initially MS PowerPoint slides, Articulate Presenter is going to be easier to use.

Nancy White jumped in to lead a round of Pecha Kucha using slides she had never seen before. Have pictures on session descriptions and on the first slide of each speaker. And I’m not a big fan of using multiple back channel tools that effectively split the discussion. Just keep it in the webinar tool. Inject fun into the event.

PowerPoint - Fantastic Resource by Karl Kapp - A Question

Karl created a presentation and a blog post that is wonderful on many levels - not the least of which that his use of a slide presentation (PowerPoint) to provide insights into the topic itself. Actually, if the only message here was that simple title, then I'm not sure I'd devote a whole slide to it anyhow. When and Why?

However, I'd also want to add that in my experience presenters who don't use slides often don't do a good job providing information, they are often ill-prepared, seem to ramble through stories, don't necessarily draw it to a conclusion, and make it really hard on the audience to extract the meaning.

Using Punctuation and Mark-Up Language to Increase Text-to-Speech Quality

A voice should not just read screen text [Kapp] but can optionally be supported by running subtitles at the bottom of the slide as in Captivate and Speech-Over [Joel]. A great deal more information per slide can be transferred with voice than with plain text.

eLearning 2.0 Presentation - ISPI Los Angeles

This presentation was somewhat similar to past presentations, but I've added a couple of new slides and concepts. I'm including my slides (via Slideshare below, but it misses a lot of what the discussions were really about). I had a great time this Saturday presenting to ISPI Los Angeles on eLearning 2.0.
