While Captivate is great for software simulations, I think Articulate is better for soft skills projects and tying the whole thing together. For example, I'm currently working on a project where branching scenarios lead into software simulations.

Just in the nick of time!

It is very handy for creating software training materials. I recently used the demo version of Camtasia to complete a software simulation project and it worked out great. I have been a long time user of Snag It and love it for screen shots. I just installed Camtasia and can't wait to put it to use on a larger scale project.

Articulate, Captivate, Both, or.?

In my humble opinion, Captivate is second to none when it comes to software simulations and technical training projects but I believe there is a little left to be desired when it comes to soft skills projects that don't require screencasting.
