Hello, we are trying  to use the Software Simulation feature on our web based software. I am not able to get any of the clicks or pages we go to in the window. After I run through the process which has probably 10 clicks and three separate screens all I get is the final screen, on any of the four (demo, assessment, training or custom). So none of my actions are being recorded.

This worked fine when I tried to record an actual program window, I did try other websites and got the same issues.

Any suggestions or ideas what I am doing wrong?

If you are not doing this already, make sure you are capturing your software simulation on your primary monitor and not on a second monitor. I have run into problems with Captivate capturing clicks and so on when the web app isn’t on the main screen.

This was the problem, I was actually on my third monitor, which it was not recognizing at all. I moved it to monitor one and I had much better results.

I’m sorry, but indeed the software simulation has problems with some web-based software. However you should be able to use the Video Demo, which will lead to a passive video (mp4), not an interactive training. If you are on Windows, make sure to use Captivate with the ‘Run as Administrator’ setting. This is important for any recording.
