In the end I decided to opt for an introduction to eLearning, the terminology, and standards and how the vle fits into the delivery. With regard to content I took the opportunity to demonstrate Wimba Create , which in itself would act as nice advertisement for my training session.

The idea that you are going to require staff to carryout major changes to their existing materials is always likely to induce an expected and to be frank understandable level of reticence, however by using Wimba Create , which will convert materials produced in MS Word into Scorm compliant packages, can pretty much neutralise that.

The three levels ultimately translate in the first instance to training options for our staff and the first two levels really deal with learning how the use the most common Moodle options available in the standard distribution to get a course up and running, with second level showing how to make use of what I have come to refer to as web 2.0

On close investigation it became very apparent that where one system had the standard distribution of quiz options the other had three extra, which I have listed below. I was pleased to see that requests appeared for Wimba Create training before the end of term, and the session ran really well.

It is interesting to me that we often require a higher standard of new teaching technology than we do for existing teaching technologies. The same is true of Adobe Connect, Horizon Wimba and other 2D classroom software. Let me give you an example. So why do we expect it to happen in a virtual world?
