Clive Shepherd tweeted about a survey recently done by the eLearning Network , a non-profit eLearning community based out of the UK. ASTD has just released their 2011 Salary & Compensation Report for the L&D field. Let's discuss: Median salary for men is $80,000-$90,000; for women it is $70,000-$80,000 The proportion of men earning $120,000 or more is twice that of women Women are not as well represented in higher paying categories of L&D.

I've been running a survey on my blog for a number of years now, asking practicing Instructional Designers if they have an advanced degree in the field. It's been awhile since I've shared updated survey results, so here's a quick rundown: About 63% of practicing IDs do NOT have an advanced degree.

The high fidelity group follows through on the path and completes different tasks, surveys etc. For the text version can just know if they got through all the pages of the document. So text doc sends statement. Quizzes to test comprehension.

The ID survey on this blog now has over 200 responses: 62% do not have advanced degrees. Tags: instructional design survey. If all we do is write training material, then perhaps yes. The debate has raged here and elsewhere as to whether instructional designer's need to have advanced degrees in ID. And then, let the debate rage on.

They do anonymous surveys that is tied back to other data so they can see who’s staying, who’s transferred and who’s more engaged). Have done exit surveys – 3 years ago #1 reason people were leaving was internal mobility. Retain and engage your most critical resources. What are people good at? What are they interested in?
