If I’m doing software application training, doing it as a webinar isn’t really my first choice. Application training via a synchronous tool like WebEx, Adobe Connect, or Elluminate too often ends up with passive learners. I disagreed; I think you can teach skills with webinars if you plan the interactions correctly.

Topia.io : If you’re looking for a different kind of synchronous online experience, Topia is an option. This feels more like a game environment than a webinar, although I think it also depends on what activities you plan within that virtual world. Apps require permissions though, so they may not work in every organization.

Just like in a webinar, it’s easier to multitask or split your attention if you’re not talking and actively involved. Tags: Tools Workplace Learning e-Learning synchronous e-learning TelePresence. We decided to mute, similar to what we would do with a big group in a web conferencing tool like WebEx or Elluminate.

Note that this is not scaling up by putting 100 people in a webinar and muting the chat. Virtual training is live, synchronous training with an instructor using an online tool like WebEx, Adobe Connect, or Zoom. You can still scale up and help trainers reach more people by doing shorter live sessions combined with self-paced content.

To start, I attended a webinar explaining the process. The application took me about 10 hours to complete, and I did the entire process from webinar to application in about a month. The badge is valid for three years, after which it must be renewed by either doing professional development or earning a badge in another area. My Process.
