If you have not used the Turnitin application yet, then I can certainly recommend it, essentially it functions as a student work submission tool that will allow you to check material for originality ( plagiarism ) and provide grading and feedback using the Trunitin GradeMark.

Let’s face it, the combination of mono-purpose scripting tools and double sided optical paper have a bit going for them still, i.e. you can change to any writing to drawing mode in an instant, annotate at any time and of course providing you resist the temptation to rip out, materials can been retrieved from their storage medium with ease.

Overall the sessions seemed to go very well and there was a lot of interest pursuing the use of Wimba Create as a tool for converting Word docs. One of the other sessions running on the day was delivered by a colleague and featured the ComicLife app and how it was used as part of our Comenius Virtual World project using Open Simulator.

I came across a nice little freebe the other day that’s worth a look, it’s a web based mind-mapping tool called ThinkLink. We are about to trial a mobile BlueTooth graphic pad in class and I feel tools like ThinkLink are going to come into their own.

My impressions at the moment are that Virtual White Board will be a nice compliment to the various tools that I am currently deploying through Moodle and intend trialling it in the coming academic year. Users i.e. students, can be invited in and authenticated via their email address; if they are remote, then chat is also available.

Anyway to cut a long story, though its really a Learning Design type tool, is does allow you to export content as Scorm, which I did and it worked first time! I tried the same package with 1.5 I had downloaded ExE some time ago and always thought it would be worth looking at later.
