Virtual Classrooms) play a part. This is definitely not something new and the tools for this have existed for quite sometime. The tools range from the ever popular Webex , to the reasonably priced Adobe Connect Pro to the free and open source DimDim . The entry barrier into the domain of virtual classrooms is almost nil. The WiZiQ virtual classroom tool runs in Flash and contains many (although clearly not all) of the features associated with expensive commercial systems. would have thought this tool would be a real boon to those on tight budgets who already have Moodle installations - it might even be a good enough reason for picking Moodle in the first place. know that virtual classrooms are well established in the US and that some 10% of formal training is carried out this way, but very few l&d people that I’ve encountered in Europe were aware of the possibilities until either (1) they were invited to a webinar and were brave enough to participate, or (2) their organisations started to use web conferencing to run virtual meetings.
