Destinationism - why does it have to be this way?

The design of learning reflects this with many an emphasis on 'training' a discrete set of skills, often in isolation from each other - almost as if they bare no relationship to the real and complex world in which they are used. A business does need to be sure that workers can work safely, or meet manufacturing standards consistently.

'Scared of first' - why business is resisting new learning.

Other than the elearning component it was really a case of, 'training' = workshops. I see that its still a case of, 'training' = workshops, and face-to-face at that! Training departments' are for managing/administrating programs rather than being responsible for organisational learning, innovation and growth.

It's strange how the mind works, I saw the title and I thought "mmm, that's how to get traction for informal learning in the workplace".
