A company or person that sells “course or module” development, books, and “training” courses might not like knowing that their “competition” is giving “it” away for free. People People who have the words “learning and development” or “training” in their job title might not like knowing that someone else is willing to do “the job” for free. Heads What would you say if I told you that I know where you can find some FREE , HIGH QUALITY , and REUSABLE courses, modules, and lesson plans? I I guess

Old ways of measuring the productivity and success of a learning community were appropriate for traditional, linear kinds of training, but not for more advanced, collaborative (or social) learning environments.
Organizations are either actively considering or have recently started deploying enterprise social media to enable social learning. Such Such companies have come to realize that key to their success are productive and vibrant learning communities.

We do not want to take a traditional ‘Learning Management System” appraoch and treat networked learning as formal training.
I am often asked by business leaders to describe what we intend to measure in order to understand, manage, and improve the networked (or social) learning eco-system. There is interest in knowing how we will prove networked learning, turn potential chaos into something that is more certain and efficient, and to get some kind of “history” about the learning and development for individuals and organizations.

Corporate learning has not changed much since the days when it was first delivered. Still, we often see learners sitting in classrooms that are arranged so that all of the eyes face towards the front of the room – towards the expert who knows everything we need to know. The designated trainers deliver the course content according to the time allotments and sequence prescribed by the course agenda. There are too few opportunities for the learners to network, discuss, and collaborate. The learners remember very little and do not often believe that the training was too relevant to the

One of Saffron’s senior instructional designers, Stephanie Dedhar, has been named Instructional Designer of the Year at the IT Training Awards 2010!
Chief executive of the Institute of IT Training, Colin Steed, described the event as an ‘annual celebration of outstanding achievement, best practice, and excellence in IT training.’ Stephanie’s submission was concerned with a major compliance The instructional designer category was new for the 2010 awards, which were announced at a gala dinner held at The Dorchester in London on Thursday 4 February.

Here's the graphs for corporate (non-Government, non-Education) training methods: Surprisingly little difference between Corporate and Overall in terms of the training method trends. Steve Wexler who runs eLearningGuild research has been producing some really interesting information recently.
