I have done my research on the equipment I will need to set up the video studio. FYI: I already have a digital video camera, microphone, and tripod. I can opt out of buying professional video lighting and buy everyday fluorescent surface mounts and put them on a stand. So, they are not included in my lists of equipment needed.

What impressed me the most was use of video embedded in the interface. This simulator, which included an electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) and a labor and delivery room, allows one to view and hear the learner via video embedded in sim (see pic below).

As my readers may remember from my past posts, I believe it will be quite a while before HTML5 becomes a practical means of delivering e-learning or a viable threat to Flash. However, Adobe has begun prototyping a tool for creating animation in HTML5. Still a long way to go, but a good start.

As you can see in the video below, we will be able get a tablet with Flash, which is enticing to me. Even I will admit the iPad is an exciting device, but because it is missing Adobe Flash it is not something in which I am willing to spend the money.
