Goto allows me to do webinars and demo’s to groups of people. My phone (if you call my office number in Rotterdam you will get my laptop), communicator for in-company communication, Skype and Goto Meeting for external communication. I can call, mail, and talk to everyone all over the world.

I do my share of presenting at workshops, webinars, conferences and expo’s. The root of the problem is of course the lack of presenting skills from the presenter, but PowerPoint doesn’t really help. It forces the presenter in a linear one-dimensional mode, often bringing out the worst of the presenter.

Earlier this month I presented at DevLearn on connecting learning to the business and this week I did a webinar and a seminar on adaptive learning. During these sessions I noticed that our basic approach (Determine learning objectives, Figure out how to assess and then create only the content that is really needed) is far from standard.

The expo has been very good for us we have a ton of leads en the coming weeks will be packed with following up, giving webinars and assisting people who signed up for the 30 day trial. That is the flip side of being an exhibitor, you are there for others and not for yourself. I wished I was able to clone myself and do both.

We created an e-Learning course to help them and held weekly Q&A webinars to answer any questions. We force users to create a learning objective first, than come up with questions to assess these objectives and only as a third step ad content. That worked well and people love the approach.
