The RCAT (rapid content authoring tool) market continues to be healthy with nothing to slow it down – uh, except maybe one thing (more on that later). I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. The data is in, the results are interesting and the competition is growing.

Equation tool – I’ve seen more vendors add this thing – and unless you are in education I can’t see why you would use it. Text to speech – Very nice – everyone should offer this feature. Curatr’s product is one of the new hybrid authoring systems to hit the market. Collaboration.

I told them, that the people I have spoken with, disagree and the market in 2014 shows that there is still not a pure authoring tool for e-learning developers, who still are seeking such a product. heh heh heh. #10

Are there low cost systems for the education market? The variance of UIs from slick to yucky exist in this market, but don’t despair – awful UIs can be had in systems that run over 100K. Navigation can run the gambit – as it does on any system regardless of price point in the market. Absolutely. .
