Some vendors won’t use SCORM because it takes time to add and implement it. vs SCORM 2004 as it was newer. for a couple of years, and then a major new initiative resulted in SCORM 2004 1st edition, 2nd, 3rd, and finally 4th (it never took off in the industry, which is why if a vendor offers it, they use the 3rd edition ).

For interactivity, we originally used Flash, and now have HTML 5 as a more secure and reliable replacement. After initial efforts in 1993, and bursts of energy circa 2000 and again in 2004, we’re seeing a new resurgence of activity and interest. SCORM was updated in 2004, and that is the existing standard for course delivery.

That’s often a mistake. Many eLearning vendors create content that is not LMS-agnostic. Vendors whose eLearning content complies with all versions of industry standards and has been tested on multiple LMS platforms can escape many of these problems. and the 3 rd Edition of SCORM 2004. In fact, most LMSs that support SCORM 1.2

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. You could say for everyone learner or just a group of learners, you could do this for every publisher that the vendor offered. WBT (Web-Based Training). Who led the market?

Technical and Security? The vendors who are not necessarily on the top of everyone’s tongues. Yet, a lot of vendors do not. Most vendors have an audit trail. Technical and Security. What means nothing to me (but to a vendor, different story). I want to know. Who is out there? Is it the UI/UX?

In the absence of SCORM, integration with other vendors is a time-consuming and expensive process. The last SCORM version was released in 2004. SCORM 2004 for example corrected some interpretations or enhanced them in some ways so that there was no guessing. and 2004 at this point. In short, it does all the basic things.
