Of course stakeholders come to training departments all the time demanding training and we need to look at the problem first as Jay Cross was quick to point out. Captivate demos, Screenr videos, podcasts, webinars, and/or other quick to develop online materials. Noughties. but nice

iPods and Podcasts: The Touch, the Nano, the Shuffle, the Classic, you name it, versions of the iPod popped up and grabbed our attention in the noughties. Social networking sites: Facebook (2006), Myspace (2003), Bebo (2005), LinkedIn (2003) and other sites together have changed the face of social networking for ever. Nothing it seems, is 'yours' anymore - once you have posted personal information or photos to Facebook, they are no longer simply 'your property'.

A few weeks ago, a story came out about how Facebook will allow apps built for Facebook to work on other Web sites. We have intranets, we have time entry systems, we have our office productivity apps, we have our browsers, we have LMSs.the problem is that we dont use all these systems all of the time and even when we are using these systems, we are typically not using all the parts of a system every time we access it.

The problem though lies in the fact that once you add some features, eventually you will need to add more and more (HRIS modules for example), which then places you into the ERP space and those vendors. People who use Facebook and Twitter prefer those over your own FB like page and micro blog. I only know of a few vendors who have integrated FB and Twitter APIs into their systems – so it is actually Twitter and Facebook. .

The Friend Connect feature on a site acts as a small peephole on a Web page allowing content from a preselected social network (including Facebook, Google Talk, hi5, orkut, Plaxo, and others)to be viewed within the predefined window. Players in this arena (although not exactly all in the same role or capacity) include Facebook Connect , the Data Portability Project (of which MySpace is a member ), and Googles Open Social.
