Over the years, Engine kept pace with the evolution of the eLearning standards, adding support for SCORM 2004 (2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions), AICC, xAPI, cmi5 and LTI 1.1 And so does Rustici Engine. cmi5 is the newest eLearning specification.

Searches on Google on some e-Learning related terms are dropping year by year: searches on Instructional design for example dropped by 80% since 2005. There is also growing interest for XAPI and 70:20:10. On SCORM the drop is 83%. Is this a decline in interest for e-Learning or is a signal for something else? Why is this happening?

Will xAPI be the one standard that is “the” standard? Look at how many people haven’t jumped over to xAPI – and that has been around for a few years. . How many vendors do you know that haven’t yet implemented xAPI? I hear it all the time from vendors who are in “wait mode” for xAPI.
