I did dig up the eLearning Guild Authoring Tools Research Report (January 2008). You can purchase the report or listen in on the January 2008 webinar (which is what I have done). It’s a bit out of date (almost 2 years old) and I suspect the numbers have changed a bit. The first 12 minutes or so of the webinar are speaker introductions.

I think Cisco/WebEx has that honor. (I’ve I’ve always thought of WebEx as a borderline verb in the corporate sector, i.e. “doing a webex&# or “let’s do a webex.&# ) My point is, Adobe Connect 8 should be seen as a powerhouse virtual classroom. billion by 2014.

Way back in Ten Predictions for eLearning 2008 , I predicted Virtual Classroom Tools - Meeting Tool + Second Life Lite A medium size Virtual Classroom / Meeting Tool will announce features in 2008 that are not 3D immersive, but that are more like Mii characters in a 2.5D Because it makes us feel more connected to the experience?

Can run PowerPoint in Adobe Connect, WebEx or other virtual meeting software. Learning Trends 2008 - Online - Free [link]. Why do we use PowerPoint to communicate? Just a tool. What PowerPoint allows to do, enables us to become lazy to turn off and fill in the squares in. How to create an eNapkin? Lower left corner icons.

Once all five people were done with the courseware, the instructor would schedule a WebEx and go through the questions. This would be a great approach for a large scale software rollout -- do the e-Learning portion upfront, and then have tailored classroom/WebEx sessions that focus on just what the learners need and where their gaps are.
