OpenLearn has a Learning Space with lecture notes and discussion forums. Discuss, watch and get inspired at some of the sites that promote new and innovative ideas. Other real time search engines that get better reviews are Twazzup , Tweetzi, IceRocket (searches other social media too) and TweetScan. Share this on del.icio.us.

For fun, they toss in YouTube and say – look we know what social learning is for the masses. Here is the latest data on social media (as of Oct. 8th, 2010). 6 social networking site by unique visitors – Tagged with an estimated 30M per month, #7 classmates 29M, #8 hi5 27M, #9 myyearbook 12M, #10 Meetup #8.

In the picture below, you can see some of the mechanisms they used: Social Bookmarks to share resources they found Discussion Boards to ask questions and have discussions. Are organizations already beyond this or should it actually be a facilitated discussion around learning technologies period, not just SharePoint?
