PowerPoint 2010: Using the Shape Union Tool

Two of the coolest new tools in PowerPoint 2010 (especially if you like to make your own graphics) are the Shape Union and Shape Subtract tools. Previously in PowerPoint, if you wanted to join two shapes you would use the Group tool. Locating the Shape Union Tool.

At the end of the year, we will be saying: “Wow, 2010 was a crazy year!” But I also thought I’d cheat and use what eLearning Learning is telling me the hotter topics are for the first 3 months of 2010.

There are many social media tools and approaches. Be strategic when identifying social media tools, how they will be implemented, and how you can facilitate learning within the media. The tech toolbox HAS to be big - you can’t just use one tool and expect it do be your one-size fits all learning solution. Instructional designers may not have the technical proficiency to use all the tools, but they better be able to identify appropriate tools and figure out what to use when (or know who to ask. For me, it’s more about recognizing when letting people learn on their own is okay - and creating tools that make it easier for this to happen.

Several technologies are poised to cross the chasm: social tools, mobile technologies, and virtual worlds. While I don’t know that these technologies will actually cross over (I’m notoriously optimistic), they’re pretty much ready to be: Social I’ve mentioned plenty before, and everyone and their brother is either adding social learning capabilities to their suites, or creating a social learning tool company.
