You might have chat rooms (my system, the one I initially built, and then the one I purchased – GeoLearning), forums, discussion boards, a library (mine did, including checkout capabilities), even classrooms (the appearance of them, I never used it). Who led the market? Not as many as today mind you. Funny, folks still access it.

I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. I expect to see over 80% of the market go SaaS by the end of 2012. I still believe this will be a winner in 2012, and that more vendors will jump into this space. small biz, smb, etc.) Prediction.

One of my favorite early vendors was GeoLearning. One out of a 500 plus by 2012. If you wanted assigned learning, yes, they offered that, but nobody was forced to select only that option. If you wanted self-paced learning, congrats they offered it as well. There was one, 100% LMS that was only compliance and nothing else.

This is the former GeoLearning Maestro solution, which is now listed as SumTotal Learning Maestro. I have them on my watch list for 2012, and I hope they change their name – after all they are targeting businesses not education. Next year, I will be writing a blog listing the top 50 vendors to watch for in 2012.
