Year 11 student awarded coveted ICAS medal

Year 11 science student from Chung Ching Middle School Jordan Hee Shan Yung has done his school and the country proud when he won the prestigious International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) medal for his outstanding performance in the ICAS Science and Mathematics Tests 2022.

ICAS is an online comparison designed specifically for primary and secondary schools.

The test is conducted annually, participated by students across Australia and over 20 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific and Americas.

The ICAS medal and medal winner’s certificate are awarded to the student with the top score in their year level for a subject in each participating country.

Hee said that winning the award was a huge moment for him and it has always been his aim to win the ICAS medal since he took the tests starting at primary level.

He also thanked his teachers for their hard work in passing on their experience and knowledge.
