Walking out to load my bags in the car last Monday (March 14), I tapped the Weather app on my iPhone to check what to expect as I headed to Orlando for the 2016 Learning Solutions Conference & Expo. Where I stood the current temperature was nearing 70 degrees while in Orlando it was slightly cooler. That’s a first! The temperature in Orlando really didn’t matter because I knew the temperature at the conference would be high (metaphorically speaking).

I use PowerPoint more for graphics than anything else. My BB-8 droid was beeping at me more than normal the other day. In my geeky wandering thoughts I figured he was telling me I should make a graphic of him and animate him across the screen. In PowerPoint. I had some time in-between tasks, so why not. By the way, BB-8 was not seated in his charger fully – charging, not charging, charging, etc., which caused the beeping to sound off more frequently.

Sketching my notes is something I’ve been doing all my life long before it became a thing. As someone who enjoys drawing it is often a challenge to separate the difference between the skill and talent of drawing and sketching visual notes. First, sketchonting has zero to do with artistic ability. Sketchonting has everything to do with processing what one hears and making visual notes of key concepts in a hierarchical structure for immediate retention and later recall.

Inspiration can strike at anytime. Inspiration struck me when I was preparing to recycle old prescription bottles. 10 minutes later a lingering problem was solved! I invested $30 about 4 years ago into a set of Logitech headphones and they’re still going strong. USB Headphones are not the easiest to put away between uses, though.
