Fast forward to the early 2000s, and a US government-sponsored group, the ADL Initiative, took the best of AICC, added some much-needed changes, and SCORM 1.0 xAPI originated around 2013 from a working group sponsored by ADL and led by Rustici. So if buying something new, you definitely want to make sure this is supported.
