Traditional vendors are largely adopting at the SCORM parity level and using Tin Can as a better way to track formal training programs. I think we mostly know how to track informal learning with Tin Can now, but there is still a long way to go in making useful information out of all that data. Tracking should be opt-in when possible.

With a wider variety of ways we could deliver learning experiences, combined with the desire to support and track performance, things had to change. One of the big challenges is that you can’t always depend on mobile devices having continuous internet connection. That could lead to some SCORM tracking issues.
