When the ADL was told to create a useful standard for eLearning in the late 90s, there were a lot of different groups who were using electronic means to teach: notably the Army, Navy and Coast Guard. Also created by ADL, are more modern versions of SCORM called xAPI or TinCan that work as well or better than SCORM. Yes, there is.

There are a bunch of other standards by ADL (who is responsible for SCORM ), IMS , IEEE LTSC including CORDRAâ„¢ , LOM , Meta-data , etc. Note: ARIADNE, AICC, IEEE LTSC, and IMS all participate in ADL's work on SCORM). Can we develop the same project using : Java, JSP, J2EE, XML, Oracle, Flash combination?

If you want to do testing, use something that already links to a tool that feeds your Oracle or SAP behemoth. We have also integrated with systems such as Oracle HR to pass new user data from Oracle HR to Moodle and learner data such as courses completed back to the HR system. 9:28 AM Linda said.

This group includes folks from the ADL, IBM, Sun, etc. My article points to the notion of Instructional Designers developing an agreed upon semantic language for defining learning content and events. This sort of work is already happening with groups like the DITA for Learning sub-committe out of the OASIS group.
