A consistent pattern in our response to new technologies is we simultaneously overestimate the short-term impact and underestimate the long-term impact. - In response to my post Personal and Group Learning Using Web 2.0 and my post on eLearning 1.0, eLearning 1.3 and eLearning 2.0 , I got asked about adoption.

So, of course, I went to eLearning Learning and I looked at Wiki , Collaborative Learning with Wikis , Wikis and eLearning 2.0 , Wikis Corporate eLearning , Social Learning with Wikis , Wiki Security and a few others. Here’s some of what I found: Why a Wiki? How about math?

I don’t think it’s the best tool out there, but it likely is the best tool being adopted by your IT department and is part of the Enterprise 2.0 My belief is that it’s going to be a big part of eLearning 2.0 eLearning Technology. plan in your organization. for many workplace learning professionals.

Here's the gist of his thinking: As I become more and more convinced that implementing next-gen/Web 2.0 is soooo much less about technology than about culture (Duh Mark, I know). I agree with Mark that there are fairly sizable organizational culture aspects to enterprise adoption of enterprise 2.0 / web 2.0 / eLearning 2.0.
