PowerPoint still reigns – If you are a course purist, the idea that PPT should be seen as an authoring tool should make you grumble with disgust. . Yes, you can use it for many different things, and yes, Microsoft has an add-on that turns PPT into something similar to Adobe Presenter. PowerPoint is presentation software.

Today, I am sharing my views on the 3 widely used tools -Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and Lectora Inspire 16. Articulate Storyline 2, Adobe Captivate 9 and Lectora Inspire 16. Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate support Mac and Windows Operating systems where as Lectora supports Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8,and 10.

Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. Also SCORM 1.2 & AICC. Import and convert PPT to the web, add rich media. Same thing with PENS i.e. a SCORM LMS that does not support PENS will not work with a PENS content authoring tool. LMS, web, CD, etc.,

An alarming rate of “get the content up now, ASAP&# regardless of what it looks like, instructional design is typically tossed out the window, especially when the ID, CD or whomever is tasked to create is handed a stream of documents in Word or PPT or some other form. Adobe Captivate. Quick, Immediate, Easy to Use. Rapid Intake.

In the authoring tool world: PowerPoint focused authoring tool, Basically you know PPT, love it and want the ability to build within it and then convert your PPT to a Course. 2004, AICC, PENS, TinCan) would be equally relevant. In the housing world that would be whether you want a townhouse, apt., condo, house, etc.
