The downside of the 2004 version is that fewer LMS vendors support it due to its complexity. There are other elearning standards like xAPI (Tin Can), cmi5, and AICC for more advanced capabilities. Bewildered on what is happening, why what is needed isn’t appearing as it should, and how is it possible that something so obvious based on where e-learning is heading, mobile is pushing and future tech is inspiring is lost among so many vendors? And therein lies one of the issues, that is showing up with many, many vendors.

For each authoring ranking, a brief true ghost story, then the vendor and why it was selected. SCORM/AICC. AICC/SCORM, SCORM 1.2, Uses a PowerPoint like layout, albeit it shows a hierarchy approach which many people will like – so if you think this is nothing more than PPT in appearance – trust me it is not.

9 Adobe Captivate 7. Equation tool – I’ve seen more vendors add this thing – and unless you are in education I can’t see why you would use it. HTML5 output including a PPT converter to HTML5. SCORM 2004, AICC. #4 Searchable content. Assessment tool including randomization. Design effects.

That said, there were some hiccups and from an entire vendor wise (expo here) angle, some unique and some, uh. This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . I see way too many vendors think a web site is all they need and people will find them.

Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. Also SCORM 1.2 & AICC. Sure, other vendors will say you can do that too, but you have to open each object file to get it. Import and convert PPT to the web, add rich media. LMS, web, CD, etc., ADL SCORM 2004 CERTIFIED.

This is a growing market with new vendors showing up, but at the same time, others disappearing. If a RCAT vendor tells you they have been in business for over 10 years, they are somewhat misleading, since WBT courses really didn’t start to hit the mark until 2000 and then you have limited choices on how to build. That was then.
