At one time, you could be “certified” with AICC and yes certified with SCORM, but why would you want to be? Video refers usually to someone shooting video via their smartphone, tablet, digital camera or digital video cam. SCORM 2004 3rd edition, SCORM 2004 4th edition (rarely used), AICC, PENS – all of which are compliance standards, each with strengths and minuses. . As you are aware I am not a fan of AICC – useful in early 2000’s, but IMO not that useful today. As many of you are aware the e-learning world is well known for its jargon.

A huge key is digital marketing. no SCORM, AICC or PENS – however, I am now seeing a few vendors offer PENS (created by AICC back in 2005, but slowly gaining traction). Every year, I identify five trends that I am seeing in the industry as a whole, and forecast on where they will be heading throughout the year. In 2011, I saw quite a few items that resonated.

Most tend to be proprietary, but I have seen a few that are SCORM/AICC and yes even PENS.
