SCORM or AICC. Identifies SCORM version/edition (may be multiple), AICC (if applicable) or PENS (if applicable): PENS was created by AICC in 2005, but a few vendors are starting to utilize it this year. Some vendors may state “SCORM/AICC or AICC/SCORM&# – means the same thing.

What about AICC? Unless you purchased a tool that is only AICC compliant, which in that case, time to ditch it and get another one. If you purchased an AICC only, then you have to find a system that is AICC compliant. It can be SCORM too, but the AICC is the key. . What about PENS or some other compliance standard?

SCORM compliance and/or AICC – there are tools out there who support neither – but that is not the norm and there are a few tools out there who also support PENS. Multiple learning paths or branching. and SCORM support and learning objects. Assessment tool of some nature – may include survey tool.

Easy to use interface and supports SCORM and AICC. #18 No reason, I just love saying that) Mzinga shows up with a true social learning authoring tool. A few vendors say “social learning” but it is often far from it. AICC, SCORM and PENS support. Supports AICC and SCORM. Not with Publisher.

no SCORM, AICC or PENS – however, I am now seeing a few vendors offer PENS (created by AICC back in 2005, but slowly gaining traction). There are quite a few vendors in this space, but IMO the best one is dominKnow’s Claro. Non compliant – i.e Peer review.

SCORM/AICC/PENS/IMS. Those that don’t are due to: Your tool works only with SCORM 2004 3rd edition, and your LMS only accepts AICC. Facility management. Can integrate with various HRIS or ERP systems including Oracle, SAP, Lawson. Ad-hoc reporting – i.e. you create your own custom reports. A: Nearly all.
