You can use either your own 3rd party content authoring tool and upload it into the “Cloud&# and then wherever you are, output either to your LMS, or onto Moodle or even WordPress (they have a plug in for that) OR place the course in Facebook or nearly any solution that accepts APIs. Also SCORM 1.2 & AICC. LMS, web, CD, etc.,

SCORM/AICC. Mobile learning support, but no TinCan nor on/off synch. In fact, recent surveys are showing that college students prefer SMS over e-mail notifications. Can add Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ : interesting about Linkedin – it is not that widely used by college students. SCORM/AICC.

Less vendors are offering the HTML5 output, which seems to be strange, especially as more e-learning vendors as a whole are jumping right in. Support (as in output) to AICC/SCORM – a major win! Hopefully e-learning vendors will re-examine what they are doing and either create a new product or tweak their own.

Here are a couple of reality points that most vendors fail to recognize: Most end users access off site their systems, unless they are hourly and their only option is to access via work. People who use Facebook and Twitter prefer those over your own FB like page and micro blog. Non compliant – i.e Peer review.

I’m not saying that e-learning vendors who follow the “trial” and give us your credit card mantra are following this approach nor are they doing so in a nefarious way, I’m just giving you some insight in how companies that use this approach, see value in it.

How many of you have posted questions regarding LMSs on Quora, Linkedin or the various other social media sites available on the net? How many of you have seen vendors respond to your questions? SCORM/AICC/PENS/IMS. Collaboration, create learner groups for social, some type of chat function. Facility management.

In 2002, a company created video courses that were AICC compliant and could be bookmarked. Wouldn’t it be great for a learning solution to create such a capability and then students from not just your school, but from other schools or universities could interact with one another, on a specific topic? It is understandable.sort of.
