A second challenge with using online conferencing tools is that they do not provide an option for output to AICC or SCORM for integration into a Learning Management System (LMS). Presenter also provides you the option to record your narration over the PowerPoint, and save the course directly as AICC or SCORM for LMS integration.

Support (as in output) to AICC/SCORM – a major win! The SCORM capability again seems like a no-brainier. SCORM within the product takes out that issue. Let’s say you already have a video course and want to convert it to a SCORM video course. The challenge though comes with analytics for these videos.

The problem though lies in the fact that once you add some features, eventually you will need to add more and more (HRIS modules for example), which then places you into the ERP space and those vendors. People who use Facebook and Twitter prefer those over your own FB like page and micro blog. Continues to be a growth market.

Manifest file: The manifest is a nitty gritty detail of SCORM. The SCORM package itself is a zip file that contains all of the media contents a course is made from, including things like SCOs, HTML and Flash files. The SCORM package also includes the manifest file which determines the structure and contents of the course.

The problem though is that there is a crisis going on in the K-12 sector and it is tied in part to e-learning (with wins and losses) and LMS vendors who serve that sector. SCORM including 1.2/2004, 2004, AICC, Common Cartridge. Facebook like design for social – YUCK. Skinning your site. That is two years folks.
