Pitfall the Game- It’s a Jungle out there. I’m not a fan of AICC – IMO in the past, but the same structure follows as the authoring tool above. Actually, I do blame: Vendors who still post RFP templates on their site – which by the way tend to be geared towards themselves. Organizations who recommend the value of RFPs and either have a link to an RFP template or how to do a RFP. RFP reality – And no, Jeff Probst is not your host.

RFP (request for proposal ): Document prepared by organizations to help assess LMS vendors during a selection process. Once a specification has been recognized by an official body, it becomes a standard, like AICC , SCORM or Tin Can xAPI.

It is like a game to see who can push out as many press releases showing their triumphs over their competitors. SCORM including 1.2/2004, AICC, Common Cartridge. One vendor showed me a RFP form a large metropolitan school district that was 25 pages long, had lots of text on one side with comments and questions. Another vendor showed me a school district whose RFP was 36 pages in length. How many teachers play games on an X-Box or Playstation?
