Who would have guessed that VR would be on wobbly ground in the corporate learning space for the majority of verticals? Who would have thought that too many folks still think xAPI is open for debate, but CMI-5 seems to make sense? Based on some exploration, it is clear to me they have a couple of routes to go in terms of the system.

Yeah it is a peeve of mine, which is why, I decided that LEPs needed their own RFP template. The LEP space is now the 2nd largest segment in the learning system space (LMSs are still first). There are other elearning standards like xAPI (Tin Can), cmi5, and AICC for more advanced capabilities. Now, elearning authoring tools make it incredibly easy to offer SCORM templates to quickly create a course and include the functionality to export learning material into a zip file as a scorm-compliant course.

The same applies to those who have created e-learning games. . On the other hand, they may use templates, I mean playing “glossary” or “jeopardy” is so awesome – I could play for at least 30 seconds. . but in the e-learning world. Courses created specifically for online learning.

LinkedIn Learning to me is a digital learning platform. Does it belong in the Top 50 Learning Systems for 2020? One was “Creating a Culture of Learning in six steps.” Download Course Package is the ability to download AICC, but you can’t upload AICC nor any course standard for that matter.

They can no longer be course developers focused on templated click-next-to-continue e-learning modules." We too believe that there’s a lot that we can, and need to, borrow from other spheres of life to make the learning experiences that we design truly memorable for people. I do think xAPI is mature enough now, along with cmi5.

If I am an authoring tool vendor, I would explore what is happening in the authoring tool market, what my product looks like, how I can make it better for my target audience and what do I see or others I trust see the e-learning space is heading. . At least SCORM support – Plenty still support AICC. Output to HTML5. What about?
