If you publish Flash content (SWF), the content can be made compliant. However, HTML5 and Articulate Mobile Player output isn't currently compliant. In the Alternate text field, type some text and then click the Close button. When an assistive device comes across an object with Alternative Text, the assistive device will read the text aloud for the learner.

Samsung Galaxy S is expected to be the first real challenger to the iPad, it runs on Android OS, offers Flash 10.1 and HTML5. Again, the iPad runs with HTML5, not Flash nor Java. True, the other tablets and Samsung offer Flash 10.1 and Java, but they offer HTML5 too. However, if you tested them in Avant, an alternative browser used by many people, they were not – yet Avant used Flash and Java. Yet, Avant supported Flash and Java.

Although Sara’s sales course was created in Flash, she decides to move forward with it because she knows the sales team will get a lot of use from a mobile version.

Custom alternatives are abundant, and we won’t be throwing many names around here. The more feature-packed the deck, the more difficult to export your content as video, Flash or HTML5. PowerPoint in HTML5 and other perks. With such an add-on you are free to share your slides as video, HTML5 or Flash. You may have quality concerns but this issue has been tackled by the most prominent players out there.

It may pay to remember that Flash is essentially a dead format where mobile devices are concerned. The iPhone was notable in its early days for a lack of Flash support, but as sometimes happens with Apple products, the absence of Flash became the rule rather than the exception. Now, the mobile landscape is dominated by devices that don't include Flash and major content providers have found a way to serve videos without that plugin. Major players switch sides.

In this post I took his method of combining Camtasia videos and an iOS app called GoodReader to make them available offline, while still maintaining the interactivity present in the TechSmith Smart Player. If you host it online with the Smart Player or put it on Screencast.com, no problems.

There are many alternatives to Captivate’s Video Demo. Presenter Video Xpress is an alternative, but I find the editor much too limited. Camtasia (probably the best tool for this goal) and Snagit are also alternatives, but there are a lot more available. It can be used as standalone asset; the viewer only needs a mp4 player which is available on each system. Those are SWF-based but will be converted to MP4 when publishing to HTML5. Intro.
