Video and LMSs – Why changes will need to be made in 2014

Analytics tied to video – they want to know what learner accessed the video course or video, how many times, how often, where did the go – From a video course standpoint – analytics is not really in play right now with LMS vendors (VLP a tad different, but not that robust). Right now, folks are fine with video usage, but I am surprised how many want those analytics that LMSs offer in terms of course data. Double Bonus: End users can add photos, images, etc.

UI is sharp and the analytical data on the back end will suffice for most folks in the higher education space, okay, the majority. System includes social (surprise, snore), mobile with apps, built-in authoring tool (lame, but most in the space are), analytical data (nice), admin features that make sense and IMO rather easy to learn for faculty. It is free open source, but you really need to know what you are doing when you build your system. A good tiding to you all.

The product are an extensive set of stock photos with real human being images and not the cheesy clip art, one often sees in such tools. Some analytics. In some ways it can be swung as a corporate learning YouTube with a touch of Premiere, a dash of video capturing, a couple of sprinkles of analytics, and a drop of publishing.
