In earlier posts, I’ve shared how to ungroup clip art to create your own images. Then, save it as an image file (preferably.PNG). After you save it as an image, you can apply a filter to it. In this case, we’re looking at filters that convert the image to something hand drawn. Feel free to use it as you wish.

I took some images I had on hand and wrote the script on the fly. In a previous post I mentioned that the PowerPoint-to-Flash tools convert your slides to Flash movies. In the demo below, I used PowerPoint to create an image template for quick knowledge checks. Swing by the Articulate booth, pick up a Smiley and say “Hi.”

Images and video can be saved to the iPad easily using iTunes. The Articulate Community team uses Screenr every day. Save as Image. Create your PowerPoint slides and save as images. Most rapid elearning tools are like Articulate Presenter and convert PowerPoint slides to Flash (and soon HTML5). In the example below, you can see that the default quiz that’s inserted in the course doesn’t have a layout or color scheme that matches the course image above. When I’m on the road, I try to squeeze in some informal Articulate jam sessions to answer quick questions or offer a tip or two. I’m doing a session for the local ASTD. And the next day, I’m hanging around for an informal Articulate jam session where I’m available to answer questions. Batch editing images is not that difficult.

We learned about this in an earlier post where we matched fonts to images. There are all sorts of free icons and vector images that you can use to help in your course design.

Change Your Background Image. Instead of a template, try adding a background images that matches the content of your course. The image above shows a quiz using the default background and one that uses a richer one. That background is a simple stock image and makes a perfect way to show off the art work in a museum.
