This week I attended my first DevLearn, and as hyped as it was in the months prior to the event, it did not disappoint. DevLearn is one of the largest events in the learning industry; according to the conference website, 1,747 people registered for the event. Surprisingly, though, it didn’t feel impersonal to me.

Long has tools such as Studio and Captivate been on the higher side, the same can be said for vendors such as Rapid Intake and dominKnow. Because other vendors are getting into the act as well. Articulate Studio – also offering a special deal at $1,398 but you also get Studio 13 for free – limited deal.

Since, I walk around and look at the vendor booths, etc. DevLearn – Las Vegas – Good show, and IMO, this year’s was the best one yet. Well organized – a must show for e-learning vendors in 2015. And the winner is… DevLearn, Las Vegas. Secondly, I looked at the expo/trade show itself.

One of the things I enjoyed most about DevLearn last month was getting to see other instructional designers’ work, and just judging by the size of audiences that turn out for DemoFest and the ID Challenge, I know I’m not alone. Showing quality work is a good bit of PR for you — even if a vendor did most of the heavy lifting.

It comes with a “LMS” which is some analytics – similar to what is happening in the space (have to attend DevLearn to find out what that means. Articulate Storyline. Articulate Studio 2013 was not considered because it just came out. . Quite simply – it is easy to use and fast to create a course.

At DevLearn, I saw a demo of twitter being embedded inside Captivate as the basis of a social learning experience. Lectora is great at packaging.
