I wasn’t thunderstruck, but what I was surprised at was the number of folks who had or were about to purchase the well known authoring tools in the market, Articulate, Captive and Lectora. Articulate. Articulate Studio. It is easy to use and once you learn it, easy to push out content. Adobe Captivate. Bottom Line.

This solution reminds me of Articulate Studio in terms of its capabilities, but at a lower cost. The new iSpring Pro 7 – currently in beta adds additional powerhouse features, including PPT to HTML5 output (which right now is a standalone product). #8 Yeah it is another PPT spin product but does stand out. #5 Bottom Line.

Articulate has told me that they have an issue with Windows 8 for both Storyline and Studio, but are working on fixing it. Desktop authoring tool vendors who realized this thing was fast approaching are: Articulate. Articulate Storyline, Articulate Studio 13 when launched will be able to do so too. dominKnow Claro.

For PPT lovers, you can synch video files with PPT with drag and drop. It enables you to upload PPT onto the iPad and present it to people – on the floor, at a location, etc. You can also connect the iPad PPT to a monitor and show it there. – anything you can do with PPT, but it is seen on the iPad.

PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Vendor adoption is slow. I believe once Articulate and some of the other big names truly launch products (such as Storyline), the market will wait.

Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. iPod, mobile phones, YouTube, message boards, e-mail. Import and convert PPT to the web, add rich media. In 2010, the RCAT market continued its upswing and nothing indicates to me it will be changing anytime soon. Supports HD h.264

The downside to training management products is the inability to upload any other 3rd party authoring tool or courses from an off the shelf vendor. Yeah, you can upload word docs, PPT, etc. – but not a course from say Articulate or any of the other tools. The biggest name in the space is Mindflash.com.
