1.    Connect your assessment with the course objectives

For you to apply assessments and quiz data successfully to your eLearning courses, you need to first identify your course objectives. After that, the next thing is to link your assessment to these objectives. However, that’s not all; by understanding your course objective, you need to determine and choose the best assessment activity, which will enable you to better identify your learner’s strengths and weaknesses. 2.    Add assessments at every point in the course

Another great idea for applying quiz data and assessments to eLearning courses is by adding them at every point in the course. Asking for feedback is a way of getting suggestions regarding something you’ve already done. After rolling out assessments and quizzes to your learners, you should ask for feedback regarding the questions. In case you don’t know, one of the many benefits of asking for feedback from learners is because it’ll provide you with better insights into how you can apply assessments and quiz data in your courses.

By asking questions, learners will be able to tell you whether or not your assessments are having a great impact on their learning experience. And if the assessments aren’t working, they will always suggest a better approach, which you can look into and use to improve your eLearning courses.

4.    Multiple attempts mean the assessment isn’t working

With the best learning management system, you can always check whether or not your learners are having multiple attempts at your questions. That said, if, after checking the analytical data you noticed any traces of multiple attempts during an assessment, it might be a sign that the learners are only guessing the answer to the question.

In this case, I’ll advise you to rework the assessment, giving little or zero room for multiple attempts. Failing the questions and getting to understand why they fail is way better for them than passing the questions without even knowing why the answers are correct.

5.    Look for any technical issues

I’m sure you’re wondering why it’s essential for you to look for any technical issues in your course. First, it’s worth noting that this approach isn’t always important. However, in the case when you see a 100% pass rate or 0% pass rate, then you should know that something might be technically not right. In this case, you need to test the correct and wrong answers and see to it that they are all reported accordingly. This way, you’ll be sure that your analytical tool is working properly.
