Since many of the folks at the xAPI Cohort were familiar with the free LRS in SCORM Cloud , we wanted to share a story of how we helped one of our clients with a super particular xAPI problem, so TJ shared how to add attachments to an xAPI course in Lectora (if you want to jump down to those directions, click here ). If you don’t use Lectora, you could adapt these steps to another authoring tool that supports xAPI pretty easily (and if you’re struggling – just reach out to us ).

This week I attended my first DevLearn, and as hyped as it was in the months prior to the event, it did not disappoint. DevLearn is one of the largest events in the learning industry; according to the conference website, 1,747 people registered for the event. Games are for learning, not assessment. We saw a lot of our favorite vendors displaying our favorite products, especially Articulate, Captivate, Lectora, and ZebraZapps.

We know as those in the training/L&D world that people can do poorly on assessments for a variety of factors, but colleges still see assessments as a key player. . It won’t match the power of say Storyline or Lectora, since they are authoring tool companies, whose primary focus is authoring. Students complete the courses with scenarios and not assessments. There are courses where the person can take the assessment as often as they want, until they pass.
