A predecessor to SCORM, AICC was difficult to work with and many steps were required to get content in the format running in a learning management system (LMS). Similar to a username and password pair, the key allows developers to access the API and interact with data in an LMS. It also describes the association of new information with pre-existing knowledge. Often paired with an LMS, this software is used to develop content for online learning and training programs.
