The boards can identify what colour pen the teacher is holding, and can also sense for example, when someone has walked into the room (whereupon it automatically readies itself for use). However, picking up the red pen and then replacing it in the black pen socket didn't help matters.

Not only do you save time and resources when compared to traditional pen and paper testing, but the reach is also much wider as it is conducted online. This is usually used in synchronous learning where active participation of learners is highly encouraged. Self-paced asynchronous session is also available, albeit not often used.

They so buy into it, as the best way to learn X or Y, that there is a movement to add synchronous-based learning, back in the day, we referred to SBL as sticking the classroom teaching method online. You may have been someone who tried out a pen because others went to the pen side. That is definitely not changing.

Authoring Tool vendors – okay TechSmith and a couple of ones that were not really asynchronous based authoring tools. . Many hands were raised and since 3rd party authoring tools output asynchronous based courses, it is clear to me, there is a high interest in asynch and not just synchronous based. Lots of pens.
