LMS RFP

Tony Karrer

Continuing on from my earlier posts: LMS Selection Presentation Reformulated LMS Selection Team and Stakeholders LMS Selection Process From several comments and from looking at my list of issues, I realize that writing a good LMS RFP is challenging and it's easy to make lots of mistakes. LMS RFP Resources John Theis wrote a dissertation on the contents of 25 RFPs submitted to an LMS vendor. But, what I see as the most common problem in LMS RFP documents are the requirements.

In Challenging Times: Make Lemonade in eLearning

Asynchronous experiences may be different, but some authentic "voice" makes the experience more manageable. These work better asynchronously, of course, but they can be leveraged synchronously. And blended can mean mixing up asynchronous with synchronous activity.

Model responses

I’m talking about things like writing up an RFP, or a response letter, or creating a presentation, or responding to a live query. Ideally, people would evaluate them, but that’s not a very scalable solution if you’re talking about mentors, and even peer review can be challenging for asynchronous learning. I was thinking about how to make meaningful practice, and I had a thought that was tied to some previous work that I may not have shared here.

Capterra LMS Software comparison provides the following filters , a good indication of these trends: Asynchronous Learning. Asynchronous Vs. Synchronous Learning. Asynchronous learning is location independent. In blended learning , asynchronous and synchronous learning elements are being combined as part of one training program.

3 Reasons Curatr Doesn’t Have A Discussion Forum

As more organisations click on to the idea of taking a more social approach to digital learning, so we get more requests from potential users of our software to fill out feature check-lists that come alongside a Request For Proposal (RFP). This was cool as heck – it did a slack-style asynchronous / synchronous style of communication. Curatr is our Social learning platform and it specializes in getting people talking.

K-12 and LMSs are Broken, Who’s to Blame?

Neo LMS allows true asynchronous based learning (self pace, non-linear) on top of the standard synchronous based seen throughout education. One vendor showed me a RFP form a large metropolitan school district that was 25 pages long, had lots of text on one side with comments and questions. Another vendor showed me a school district whose RFP was 36 pages in length. Back in the 90’s I taught high school and loved it.
