The ability to record audio in real time or post time makes a lot of sense and eliminates the need for using Audacity (albeit it is a wonderful and free product). There are more vendors who do not offer the ability to post – i.e. add audio afterwards it is quite amazing. Valuable Features – New. Audio Recording and Editing.

If you are an e-learning developer or instructional designer this has always been a favorite feature of authoring tools. The problem has been (in the past) that the rapid content authoring tools have avoided adding it as a component. The problem though is it is extremely basic. Audacity which is free – destroys it.

After recording your voice or whatever it appears as one wavelength, which is standard for any recording – and not the problem I have with the product. If you prefer to have multiple layers of recordings for one record, I strongly recommend using Audacity (which is free), then save and export the recording to Storyline.

Some vendors can flow with that, others say they can and sure enough, they can’t. The same problem arises when they say the infamous, “stop me at any time and ask questions”, which results in me doing that at – some handle it well, others ignore and continue pressing on with their information. Who is at fault?
