Anyway, back to the PowerPoint tip … If, like me, you have to work with other people’s PowerPoint files, the great thing about them is that the author can record or embed audio narration on the slide. This isn’t the end of the story here though, as the file names for the audio files are just simple ‘media1.m4a’

Outside of the TechSmith family I also use PowerPoint , Audacity and GarageBand. For file formatting sometimes I’ll use Adobe Media Encoder. This way, I can embed/screencast the iPad segments directly into my Camtasia lessons. What tools do you use to screencast? I use Snagit and Camtasia primarily. Least favorite?

When you want to create training videos with voice over, Audacity is one of the go-to options in the market. Free, open-source, and easy to use, with Audacity you can record your audio live (through a microphone or mixer), digitize recordings from other media, combine sound files, edit, and add effects. The last thing you want to do is put up more barriers to education and further entrench socioeconomic divisions by trying to embed paid apps. . There are dozens of creative ways you can embed QR codes into lessons; going on a QR code scavenger hunt was a hit with my students!

You will need video recording and presentation software, like Camtasia, Screencast-O-Matic, Audacity, Filmora, Adobe Premiere. Slideshare : Using the embed code of a SlideShare presentation you can easily include it in your courses. SoundCloud : Using the embed code of a Soundcloud track you can easily include it in your courses.
