E-Learning Screen recording and video solutions – Should b simple, so why isn’t it?

The ability to record audio in real time or post time makes a lot of sense and eliminates the need for using Audacity (albeit it is a wonderful and free product). There is something wrong when a free and open source product like Audacity can do it, yet a product that costs hundreds of dollars cannot. Flash vs. HTML5.

Authoring Tool Market – What I am seeing

HTML5 output. Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. I do believe that HTML5 output will continue to grow as an authoring tool feature. Audacity which is free – destroys it.

Articulate, Captivate and Lectora – Do they deserve your praise?

I’ve always found this product to be the top of the line for PowerPoint to Flash course builds. Their video encode program is lackluster, you are better off using Audacity – which is free. HTML5 output, publish to the iPad and text to speech functionality. Articulate. Adobe Captivate. Articulate Studio. Feature rich.

Numerous steps to view in HTML5. “Upload your content to a web server, you just give your learners a link to the story.htm file” – This is to view the course in HTML5 on your iPad. Flash – since my goal was to have the course visible on an iPad, I did not select this feature. Directly from Articulate.
